Japanese Artist
Meet Fuku Hanao, a rising artist from Japan whose imaginative and whimsical creations are capturing the hearts of many. With a unique style that blends nostalgia with a playful, modern twist, Hanao's art is a vibrant journey into a world of fun and happiness.
Born in 1975, Hanao's creative path began in the world of music, where he was active in bands throughout his 2os and 30s. Around 2016, he embarked on a new artistic adventure and began sharing his illustrations on Instagram. His work is known for its distinctive and genre-defying style, setting him apart in the art world. Hanao actively participates in art events and solo exhibitions and has also ventured into portrait illustration and character goods.
At the heart of Hanao’s work is his original character, the delightful "Dynamic More-chan." More-chan is a curious being from the distant Shitake Village (Mushroom Village) in outer space. Fascinated by Farth's pop culture, especially from the 1970s and 1980s, she loves to transform into various versions of herself inspired by classic films, anime, and music.
Through these playful transformations, Morc-chan explores themes of nostalgia and boundless imagination.
Hanao’s artistic style is often described as “kimo-Kawaii” a “creepy-cute” aesthetic that is both humorous and offbeat. His illustrations are rich with references to retro fashion, media and entertainment, creating a strong sense of narrative and personality in each piece. By combining the charm of hand-drawn art with digital composition, Fuku Hanao has created a captivating universe that invites you to leave the everyday behind and step into a space filled with creativity and joy.
